Hello
and welcome to the site!
I
began my career in the newspaper business in 1965 when
I joined the staff of The Daily Reflector in Greenville,
NC. I worked there for 28 years as the chief photographer
and black and white lab manager. During my tenure there
I implemented a color lab structure and processed the
first color photo to run in the newspaper as offset.
While working at the paper, I formed my own licensed
business developing special photographic techniques
for copying antique photos using film and the older
silver print processes. Meanwhile, I continued my career
as a news photojournalist, winning numerous photojournalism
awards beginning in 1968 along with Associated Press
citations. I continued my newspaper career when my family
moved to Greensboro in 1992, Forrest Photography moved
to Greensboro as well. While I worked for the Jamestown
News and High Point Enterprise for a time, Forrest Photography
continued to grow as well, and I now specialize full
time in photo restoration.
With
the advent of digital photography, I have coupled high-end
computer software along with state-of-the-art large
format scanning equipment to develop exciting new methods
of photo restoration. I added graphics to the business
name in 1994.
My
wife is my partner, who works with me on some projects
and I still create scenic photography in addition to
producing graphics for clients. I love to shoot as much
as I can...my favorites are the scenes of North Carolina!
I've recently been selected for photo assignments from
"Our State" & Signature magazines. (See
the Archives)
